Classes of beingThere are 12 classes of being: Angels You can analyse these classes in many ways. When analysing these, the lists assume each being has "1" or "0" for the value, not a fractional value or a value greater than 1, which is quite possible, but for simplicity, we won't do for the examples below. Let's look at which classes are innocent. Innocent beings have equal or greater natural-respect + true-care to their self-interest and no sadism. There are 5 innocent classes (because they have true-care or natural-respect and no sadism). Innocent beings: Angels And 5 "guilty" classes (because they have sadism): Cruel And 2 "morally neutral" classes: Cold Another way to analyse this, is looking at which are "higher beings", "middle beings", or "lower beings". THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS INNOCENT OR GUILTY! There is overlap between the groups. Most innocent beings are "higher", but one innocent being is "middle". And two "guilty" beings are middle! Higher beings: Angels Middle beings: Devgel Lower beings: Cold Calling a "cold" being a "lower being"... is kind of mathematically true if you equate sadism with coldness, but cold beings aren't so bad. They really don't deserve to be seen as in the same group as the cruel ones. But I'm putting there only for mathematical cleanliness's sake... not for any PRACTICAL real world sake of whether you'd find them to be a "lower being" or not. Practically, you'd experience cold beings, more like "middle beings". Or maybe just "just below middle, actually more middle than low". Another way to analyse this, is how "chaotic" a being is... The top left corner of the morality map is the most chaotic, and the bottom right of the morality map is the least chaotic. Devgels are the most chaotic, twisted beings are quite chaotic, self-interested beings aren't really chaotic, and isolationists are the least chaotic. Beings off that diagonal line can have their "chaos" judged by how far down the line they are if they were moved at right angles towards the line. In that sense, freeists are slightly chaotic ;) but thats OK, because they are innocent and the highest kind of being. |
