Choice Matrix AppearancesAnother interesting thing, is that while no one can change the options available to them... they can change the APPEARANCE of the options available to them. Only humans can do this (or at least 3rd level beings even if they are not from Earth), animals and plants can't do this. Changing the appearance of options, can be good or bad. You can make curved paths look straight, or straight paths look curved. In fact humans even are able to change the appearance of options for other people too, causing illusions. Making good choices seem bad, or bad choices seem good. Again, humans aren't able to violate the limits no matter how clever they think they are. No being can be pushed more than 90 degrees from his prefered direction, just like gravity can't pull objects upwards. Making a "curved path look straight", is just another way of saying "seeing past the illusions in life". Then you can easily take choices that SEEM hard, but actually are the most rewarding. Making a "straight path look curved", means creating illusions. Making something look more or less preferable to you than it really is. The reason this can be bad, is when humans make bad choices look good. They lie to themselves that they can keep on lying, and fucking everything up, and it will NEVER BACKFIRE. That they can keep on consuming and lying and refuse to ever clean up, and everything will work out for the best! Of course it doesn't happen that way. All they did is make it LOOK that way, not change how it really is. So they locked themselves into a path that doesn't lead to where they really want to go. And in the process scared the shit out of a whole bunch of people who see themselves as on the suffering end of this equation, and don't see a way out of it. At least not until they are able to make "curved paths look straight", and see past all the lies and illusions of humanity. Then they will see how there really IS a way out for those who are innocent, and how most humans are just going to self-destroy for their lies. |
